Lou Berney is the author of GUTSHOT STRAIGHT, a novel forthcoming from William Morrow in January 2010. He is also the author of The Road to Bobby Joe and Other Stories, and his short fiction has appeared in publications such as The New Yorker, Ploughshares, and the Pushcart Prize anthology. As a screenwriter, he has written feature scripts and created TV pilots for, among others, Warner Brothers, Paramount, Focus Features, ABC, and Fox. He has taught at the University of Oklahoma, the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and for several years in the MFA program in creative writing at Saint Mary’s College in California.
