Ken Follett is widely regarded as one of the world’s most successful authors, with more than 100 million copies of his twenty-six books in print. His novels, which regularly top bestseller lists around the globe, include EYE OF THE NEEDLE, TRIPLE, THE KEY TO REBECCA, THE MAN FROM ST. PETERSBURG, and LIE DOWN WITH LIONS, as well as the more recent New York Times bestsellers CODE TO ZERO, JACKDAWS, HORNET FLIGHT, and WHITEOUT. He ventured into historical fiction for the first time in 1989 with The PILLARS OF THE EARTH, and published its sequel, WORLD WITHOUT END, in 2007. Both were #1 New York Times bestsellers.
Before becoming a full-time novelist, he worked for British newspapers and a book publisher while writing novels in his spare time. In addition to his literary career, he is involved in many civic and philanthropic activities and is an enthusiastic amateur musician who plays bass guitar in the band Damn Right I Got the Blues. Born in Cardiff, Wales, he lives in Stevenage, England, with his wife, Barbara Follett, who is a member of Parliament for the Labour Party. In a publishing event, his first historical novel set in the twentieth century, FALL OF GIANTS, will be released simultaneously in more than fifteen countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain and Latin American nations, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Brazil, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Hungary, and Bulgaria on September 28, 2010.
