I'm a fan and book critic specializing in thrillers with scientific or medical themes. I post my reviews (along with author interviews, science education news, and more) at my website ScienceThrillers.
I've been a professor of microbiology and molecular biology at California State University. I also write science-based thrillers and landed an agent at ThrillerFest 2009.
My debut novel PETROPLAGUE, a science thriller about oil-eating bacteria which contaminate the fuel supply of Los Angeles, will be published by Diversion Books as an ebook original in the fall of 2011.
