ITW elects 2009 Board of Directors

The membership of the International Thriller Writers, Inc. recently voted to fill two vacancies on our board of directors and to confirm a returning director. The vacancies were created due to term limits. We are proud to announce the 2009 ITW board of directors:

berry-steve-small.jpgSteve Berry, Co-President. One of the founders of ITW, Steve has already served as managing editor of Thriller 1 and as Executive Vice President. He's the bestselling author of seven novels, the latest of which is The Paris Vendetta.

joe-moore-small.jpgJoe Moore, Co-President. Joe joined ITW in 2005 and has previously served as Vice President, Technology. His international bestselling Cotten Stone thriller series has been translated into 24 languages. He writes full time from his home in South Florida.

kathleen-antrim-small.jpgKathleen Antrim, Vice-President, National Events. Reelected to the board for a second term, Kathleen Antrim is a thriller novelist, columnist for the San Francisco Examiner, correspondent and well-known political commentator.

hinze-vicki-small.jpgVicki Hinze, Vice President, Awards. Vicki is the author of 24 novels and several nonfiction books, not to mention possessing an intimidating Ph.D. in philosophy.

james-peter-small.jpgPeter James, International Vice-President. Joining the board this year, Peter is the multiple award-winning author of nineteen novels as well as a screen writer and producer of 26 films including The Merchant Of Venice starring Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons.  His Detective Superintendent Roy Grace crime novels are published in 31 languages. Peter lives in Notting Hill in London and in Sussex

kennet-shirley-small.jpgShirley Kennett joins the board as Vice President, Membership after four years of ThrillerFest volunteering, most recently as ThrillerFest Chair. She will actively recruit new members and seek to enhance member benefits. For her seventh novel, she is writing as Dakota Banks to launch the Mortal Path series of supernatural thrillers.

land-jon-small.jpgJon Land, Vice-President, Marketing. Jon is the author of many bestselling books and several screenplays, and he established ITW's important relationship with the literacy organization, Reading is Fundamental.

carla-neggers-small.jpgCarla Neggers, Vice-President, Special Projects. Carla has authored more than 50 novels, which have been translated into almost as many languages as Richard Burton could speak, and she is a past president of Novelists, Inc.

preston-douglas-small.jpgDouglas Preston, Vice President, Communications. Doug has published a number of bestselling novels and nonfiction books as well as writing occasional articles for the New Yorker and Atlantic.

david-dun-small.jpgDavid Dun, who rotated off the board in 2008 because of term limits, remains as ITW's Secretary/Treasurer & Chief Financial Officer.

ITW and its Board wish to thank retiring directors James Rollins and David Hewson for their dedication and service to our organization. Their names are added to the list of past officers including David Morrell and Gayle Lynds, the founding Co-Presidents along with past directors Lee Child, David Dun, Tess Gerritsen, M.J. Rose and M. Diane Vogt. They have all achieved well-deserved Emeritus status. ITW's gratitude to them cannot be overstated.

The Board of Directors welcomes any comments, concerns, or ideas about the organization.
