ITW elects new Board of Directors

While the rest of the country is still wallowing in the muck of this election season, International Thriller Writers, Inc., is happy to report it held its elections successfully and calmly, without mudslinging and negative advertising. We are pleased to announce the results.

berry-steve-small.jpgSteve Berry was elected as Co-President. One of the founders of ITW, he has already served as managing editor of Thriller. He remains head of ITW's Publications Committee and also served as Executive Vice President. He's the best-selling author of six novels, the latest of which is The Venetian Betrayal.

Rollins-James-small.jpgAlso serving as Co-President this year is James Rollins, another ITW founder, who is the author of numerous bestselling thrillers including The Judas Strain and the novelization of the recent blockbuster movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. He is a veterinarian in his "real" life.

kathleen-antrim-small.jpgContinuing on the board as Vice President, National Events, is Kathleen Antrim, thriller novelist, columnist for the San Francisco Examiner, correspondent and well-known political commentator.

hewson-david-small.jpgDavid Hewson takes the title of International Vice President, in charge of furthering the international presence of ITW by generating members in new territories and enhancing ITW's standing in other countries--an appropriate portfolio for a distinguished author living in England who writes thrillers set in Rome.

hinze-vicki-small.jpgVicki Hinze joins as Vice President, Awards; she is the author of 22 novels and several nonfiction books, not to mention possessing an intimidating Ph.D. in philosophy.

land-jon-small.jpgJon Land, Vice President, Marketing, is the author of many bestselling books and several screenplays, and he established ITW's important relationship with the literacy organization, Reading is Fundamental.

joe-moore-small.jpgJoe Moore, Vice President, Technology, manages ITW's Big Thrill website and is the co-author of the bestselling Cotton Stone thrillers, as well as being the winner of two EMMY® awards for his work in broadcasting.

carla-neggers-small.jpgCarla Neggers joins the board as Vice President, Special Projects; she has authored more than 50 novels, which have been translated into almost as many languages as Richard Burton could speak, and she is a past president of Novelists, Inc.

preston-douglas-small.jpgDouglas Preston joins as Vice President, Communications; he has published a number of best-selling novels and nonfiction books as well as writing occasional articles for the New Yorker and Atlantic.

david-dun-small.jpgDavid Dun, who rotated off the board because of term limits, remains as ITW's Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer.

ITW, its Board and Co-Presidents wish to raise their glasses to the retiring and founding board members of ITW, to whit: David Morrell and Gayle Lynds, the founding Co-Presidents; along with Lee Child, David Dun, Tess Gerritsen, M.J. Rose and M. Diane Vogt. They have all achieved well-deserved Emeritus status. ITW's gratitude to them cannot be overstated.

The Board and Co-Presidents always welcome any comments, concerns, or ideas about the organization.
